“True intelligence operates silently. Stillness is where creativity and solutions to problems are found.”~ Eckhart Tolle
Remember “Stop. Drop. Roll?” For whatever reason this was one of the most memorable lessons in grade school. Thankfully my flammable pajamas never actually ignited from all the cigarette ash that was dangled above me at bedtime tuck-ins, so I never had to execute the drill. Oh, the 70s… forty years later we still have plenty of fires to put out in our lives, they are just a bit more figurative, usually ignited by an email or a call, or for our young people by a posting on social media.
Getting grounded, and quickly, is still sage advice. Having the self awareness to recognize an internal fire is incubating is the tricky part. Presence is essential. Patience is too. Projection and Procrastination, not so much; they are just fuel to your fire. Just like in the 70’s we have to practice doing this, so when the next fire approaches we are ready to respond calmly and quickly.
Stop. Drop. Be still. Listen to Ram (below.)
Headphones are ideal. No headphones works too. It’s 8 minutes. Plus whatever silence you allow yourself afterwards. Now; Enjoy.
